Why Us

Why Empowering Organizers

Empowering Organizers bridges the gap between institutions and the communities they serve — combining organizing experience with a deep understanding of the systems that shape people’s lives. That starting point shapes how work is approached: beginning with listening, community context, and thoughtful preparation, not a one-size-fits-all solution.

Our Grounding

Starting With Listening and Context

Before a public meeting is called, a campaign or project launches, or a coalition is formed, Empowering Organizers asks who is affected, who is missing from the room, and what the community already knows. This approach, called Before We, is still being developed, but it reflects a consistent starting point: understanding context before choosing a path forward.

Our Principles

Principles That Guide the Work

How a Working Relationship May Begin

A conversation is often the best starting point. Each inquiry is reviewed individually, and fit and next steps depend on the organization’s context, goals, and timing. Depending on what’s needed, that conversation may lead toward a project partnership, training and facilitation, or general consulting support — there is no fixed process or required package.
